History:

The Mow-A-Toc Lodge #262 first chartered in 1944 to the Redwood Area Council, which served Humboldt and Del Norte Counties and was headquartered in Eureka.  Mow-A-Toc Lodge merged with Cabrosha Lodge in January of 1994 to form Orca Lodge #194 following the mergers of the Redwood Area and Sonoma-Mendocino Area Councils, with our area operating as Mow-A-Toc Chapter.  In 2012 the former Redwood Area split off from Redwood Empire and joined the Crater Lake Council and Lo La’Qam Geela Lodge #491.  Pacific Rivers District(Humboldt County) continued on as Mow-A-Toc Chapter while Redwood Gate District(Del Norte County) affiliated itself with the closer area to the north in Oregon and became a part of Pi-Ahi Ola Pits-Ki Chuck Chapter.  In 2024 the Crater Lake and Oregon Trail Councils merged, and in the process the California counties were split off and joined in with Councils in California.  Siskiyou and Modoc Counties joined Golden Empire Council and the former Redwood Area Council territory became a part of Golden Gate Area Council and Yerba Buena Lodge #719, with the two counties reuniting as Mow-A-Toc Village.
