Yerba Buena Lodge 719

Yerba Buena Lodge 719 is the Order of the Arrow Lodge of the Golden Gate Area Council, Boy Scouts of America and was established on January 1, 2021. The home page contains recent news about our lodge and will be updated on a regular basis.

Lodge Convention

At the Lodge Convention on Saturday, January 23, over 90 members from the legacy lodges connected via Zoom to participate in the first ever Lodge Convention and Election of Yerba Buena lodge.

The meeting started promptly at 6:05P with Chase VanDerveer acting as the “master of ceremonies” who led the lodge in the OA obligation.  We were honored to have in attendance three 2021 National OA officers that gave a warm welcome to our new lodge; National Chief-Derek Porter, National Vice Chief-Greg Brown and Western Region Chief-Dakota Morosi.  The youth then broke out into their own Zoom session to elect the first officers of Yerba Buena Lodge while the adults had their own session.

Following the breakout sessions, we are pleased and honored to announce the first Officers for Yerba Buena Lodge for the year 2021:

Congratulations to our new officers.  Following the election we had a great game of Kahoot! and the meeting ended with the singing of the closing song.

Lodge Patch Design

Thirty-seven (37) flap designs were submitted to the lodge for consideration as our new first flap. The youth of the Lodge merger task force team whittled those 37 flaps down to 4 that were presented and voted on at the convention by both youth and adults.  All flaps were displayed anonymously.  The Lodge congratulates Craig Leighty for the winning Lodge Flap entry, which is to become the first lodge flap of Yerba Buena.  We expect the flap to be available sometime in March.
